I am inspired by so many things, but number one would have to be creativity. I love how restricted or fluent it can be. How modern or abstract it could be and also how unsettling it can be. There is no right way to be creative. It can literally look like whatever you are feeling or have experienced. It can go as deep as the ocean or shallow as a pond.
I am also inspired by my own life. My own experiences. Lately I’ve been walking through some very deep and shadowy parts of myself. It’s reflecting in my art. I feel very icy and cold. Almost dormant. & The colors in my latest project reflect that. Gray, teal, white. The piece I’m making will be a pair of comfy, cozy cargo pants. I wasn’t sure at first why I chose these colors for these pants. But it all came to me at once. The colors are my feelings and the style is comforting me in those feelings. Pieces like this are healing for me. And continues to inspire me to put all parts of myself into my work. The light parts as well as the dark.
This is my first blog, and definitely not my last. I hope you guys enjoy this journey of me writing and sharing small pieces of myself with you through this platform.
